Geodesy

Our ProVI Road and ProVI Rail software already feature numerous functions for processing surveying points and terrain models. So if you also want to perform more complex geodetic calculations, our Geodesy add-on module is the perfect solution.

Tacheometric Analysis

Our surveying module allows you to analyze the raw data originating in different surveying instruments from all the main manufacturers (Geodimeter, Leica, Sokkia, Topcon, Trimble/Zeiss). Special algorithms help to detect gross errors such as point mix-ups.

Geodetic Point Calculation

This module allows you to calculate the positions and elevations of traverses and individual points through the adjustment of redundant measurements (e.g. overdetermined survey station). The module also supports the full spectrum of basic surveying tasks ranging from the calculation of points of intersection, Helmert transformations and area calculations. Spatial tasks can also be performed using 3D objects such as spatial lines, planes, circles, cylinders and spheres.

Site Network Adjustment

A site network can be created and adjusted to meet the most stringent accuracy requirements. The control point conditions can be easily amended, and all network types – from free to fully constrained – are supported. Breakthrough accuracy prognoses for tunnel networks are also possible.

GNSS Spatial Network Adjustment

With combined spatial adjustment, GNSS baselines that have already been processed can be combined with standard observations (from tacheometry and leveling) and integrated using a weighting based on their respective accuracies to create a single hybrid spatial network.

Coordinate Transformation

The global compatibility of all national survey organizations under the joint umbrella of WGS/ETRS89 results in a host of new tasks, all of which are also supported in ProVI VE.
Since older coordinate systems can be converted only in approximate terms to the ETRS89 system through compliant 3D transformations, local inhomogeneities have to be taken into account where greater accuracy is required; many of these inhomogeneities can be approximated with the NTv2 method.
A range of standard tasks such as meridian swaps and Helmert/affine transformations are also supported.

Leveling

The leveling analysis module allows you to import data from all standard, automatically recording instruments or from hand-written field books. Support is available not only for standard leveling but also for surveys performed with double-scale staves and three-wire leveling.
The module automatically compiles leveling runs and distributes any closing errors. Elevation computations for laterally observed points are suitable for most engineering geodesy purposes.
Network adjustment is recommended for ultra-reliable elevation calculations because the analysis can be performed with a range of control point specifications (e.g. free, dynamic, final).
The elevation differences for first-order precision networks are reduced (e.g. normal-orthometric reduction, reduction of gravity anomalies).
