Future-oriented programming ensures a constant high standard of the applications and stable software. 


A special Intersection Editor supports the ProVI user in the calculation and display of any at-grade intersection forms or roundabouts. The flexibility of this editor covers many further forms which are common in practice, in addition to the constructions described in the German RAS-K-1. All the dimensions relevant for construction can be individually altered.


Single turnouts single crossovers and also crossings can be designed graphically and interactively. ProVI also supports, in addition to all common turnouts and rail forms, special forms as used for example in underground railways. In addition to computation and display, the program enables the production of turnout level plans.

Urban railways

For the particular requirements in the field of urban railway or tramway design, ProVI offers additional tools. 
Particularly in inner-city areas, the production of a rail division plan may be required. The reason for this is that it is sensible for radii under 180 m to pre-bend the rails over their entire length prior to laying. This makes a plan showing the division of the rails necessary for use in the works producing the rails as well as on the construction site. ProVI offers an interactive editor for this task. 
To validate the trafficability of a tramline, ProVI offers an envelope calculation. In addition to a multitude of predefined vehicles, users can also integrate their own train modules. The external data of the vehicle are visualised in the layout. 


ProVI offers the graphic interactive Drainage Editor, a powerful tool for the design of drainage systems for a project. Data for manholes and reaches can be calculated taking into account longitudinal gradient and depth of section. The display can be as a layout plan or also as a level plan. The system offers hydraulic calculations according to the time-coefficient process. The ISYBAU interface enables the data to be exported for further hydraulic calculations.


The information flow between design partners in road-building will in future take place in ProVI through the interface OKSTRA, the object key system specified by the Federal Institute for Road Construction as the exchange format for software systems. In addition to this, all REB-conforming data types and Land-XML will be supported through interfaces and conversion programs, for example to the DB-GIS usual with German Railways, to common calculation programs such as VERM.ESN or others, will also be offered.

Auxiliary programs

ProVI offers the user a multitude of utilities to simplify and accelerate the production and processing of drawings. These range from slope hatching through area filling to plan margin drawing, to mention only a few.
