With ProVI 7.1, the Munich-based software provider ProVI launched the latest version of its BIM solution for traffic route and infrastructure planning in September. Daniel Marques, Head of Product Engineering at ProVI, knows what innovations and optimizations ProVI 7.1 has in store for its users.
Cost module: “A special highlight is the new cost module,” says Marques. ” This allows users to keep an eye on costs even during the current planning phase.”
Node editor: ProVI 7.1 also comes with innovations in the node editor. From now on, building ground models and area files will also be considered in the node. In addition, user-defined mass positions in the boundary routes open up numerous modeling options.
Place editor: The creation of stormwater retention basins has been optimized in the ProVI place editor. Thanks to a new function, users can now check the volume of the basin during planning. In addition, ProVI significantly improves the handling of line-shaped and point-shaped objects, enabling even more efficient work.
BIM functions: Users can also benefit from optimizations in the BIM functions of the infrastructure planning software, as the Head of Product Engineering describes: “Creating attributes is now even easier. Thanks to the CSV import and export in CFGEDIT, complete lists for attributes can be imported and exchanged with others. In addition, many objects have been assigned new fixed attributes, such as area.”
ProVI LST: There are further innovations in the ProVI LST module, which was launched a year ago as part of the ProVI 7.0 software version. The cooperation between the traffic system and the control command and signalling technology has been strengthened. From now on, it is possible for traffic controllers and control command and signalling engineers to work simultaneously on data that are actually dependent on each other. Version 7.1 also contains some new objects in the area of ETCS (European Train Control System), which enable preliminary planning and, to a certain extent, design planning. Complete PT1 planning will be made possible with the following release, as the software provider has already announced.
Cross profile editor: “What real ProVI experts should be additionally pleased about: The tangent, arc sine, arc cosine and arc tangent functions are now available for the rules in the transverse profile editor. This enables completely new possibilities in cross profile design via rules,” says Daniel Marques.
Guideline checks: In the area of axle alignment, the software includes new guideline checks in accordance with DB guideline 800.0110, as well as the ÖBB guideline and Ob-Ri NE.
Traffic signs: Furthermore, traffic signs have been implemented for component output so that they can also be output via the model collection.
